Celebrating Excellence: Cheryl Magazine’s 2025 Women of Influence Awards Luncheon

On Friday, March 21, 2025, over 600 dynamic women from across the United States gathered at The Statler Hotel in Dallas, Texas, for one of the most anticipated events of the season—the 2025 Women of Influence Awards Luncheon, hosted in partnership with Soul Reborn and Cheryl Magazine. Now in its third year, this sold-out celebration honored 16 extraordinary women whose work, leadership, and vision embody the theme “The Affirmed Woman.” From pioneers in business to trailblazers in media, education, and advocacy, each honoree has transformed lives and industries through their unwavering pursuit of excellence.

Co-hosted by Emmy-nominated anchor Nicole Baker and bestselling author and speaker Roni Talley, the afternoon brought together leaders, entrepreneurs, creatives, and changemakers for a day of networking, inspiration, and celebration. Guests enjoyed a catered luncheon, vibrant vendor marketplace, and live performances by NaGuanda Nobles and Clover the Violinist. The highlight of the day came as Dr. Cheryl Polote Williamson honored the 2025 Women of Influence: Denise Polote-Kelly, Teri Ijeoma, Erica Terry Derryck, Sheryl Adkins-Green, Shani Hosten, Raven Nicole Barnes, Egypt Sherrod, Tabitha Brown, Tammy Franklin, Patricia Adams Williams, Tamira Chapman, Kimberly Sweet, Karen Boykin-Towns, Dr. Jill Waggoner, and Britni Ricard. These women have not only excelled in their respective fields but have also paved the way for generations to come.

This year’s luncheon was about more than recognition—it was about impact. In a powerful moment, honoree Tamira Chapman, founder of Storehouse Voices, announced a $25,000 donation to Soul Reborn on behalf of Storehouse Voices Publishing. This was followed by another generous $25,000 contribution from Teri Ijeoma and a generous donation from Cynt Marshall and Tabitha Brown. These gifts will directly support Soul Reborn’s mission of empowering and equipping Black women with the resources they need to build and grow sustainable businesses. “The lack of access to capital has been a major factor preventing Black women from starting their businesses,” Dr. Williamson shared. “With the resources provided by Storehouse Voices and the money raised today, Soul Reborn will continue to help Black women reach their dreams.”

In the spirit of gratitude, we thank Storehouse Voices, Cynt Marshall, Teri Ijeoma, Tabitha Brown, and many others who sowed a seed into the purpose of Soul Reborn. Your generosity fuels a movement that changes lives, strengthens communities, and builds legacies. As Black women continue to be the fastest-growing group of entrepreneurs, Cheryl Magazine remains committed to amplifying their stories and successes. A portion of the luncheon’s proceeds will fund grants for women-owned businesses—ensuring that the impact of this day will echo far beyond the ballroom.

The 2025 Women of Influence Awards Luncheon was a resounding testament to the power of women standing together, lifting each other higher, and affirming that when women rise, communities rise with them.
